I'm currently a Senior UX/UI Designer at Twig. I'm based in Glasgow, Scotland.
I've worked in various design and development roles for the past nine years. So get in touch if you have a job that calls for someone like me.
Work aside, I have an educational background in philosophy, I'm a bit of a wanderer, a musician and a biker. I live with my partner and our very old dog.
My work philosophy
I build simple, intuitive, and responsive web applications. I keep the bells and whistles to a minimum—enough to provide a little flair, but never enough to distract. I keep my code clean and readable.
I aim to be as communicative as possible throughout the whole process, as I've always found that it's the best way to ensure a great outcome.
Client-focused
Your web presence and your business should be working together to deliver positive results. For me, the most important part of the creative process is developing a strong understanding of your business, your brand, and your end goals. Only then can I create solutions that are truly geared towards your needs.
Affordability
When working as a freelancer, I'm ideally placed to offer agency standards at a competitive price—simply because I don't have the overheads an agency has. I leverage open-source solutions where appropriate, leaving me free to focus on results instead of re-inventing the wheel.

Zactly was built as a solo hobby project that I intended to use personally when carrying out design or research work in my day job. Having enjoyed the project so much, and after getting some positive feedback from colleagues, I may make it public in future.
Zactly is a design tool for product and service designers. It allows you to keep track of all the assumptions you have made about your product, its functionality, who its users are and how it will be used.
When you track all of the assumptions made during the design process, it becomes easier to plan and execute research needed to validate these assumptions, even if it's been months since the assumption was made.
For this project I worked with another designer to build their bespoke Wordpress site. The client was keen to avoid using clunky custom page builders within Wordpress, so I created custom component blocks that could be used within the default Gutenberg page editor.

As the sole designer, my work with Storii involved: creating a style guide and branding guidelines to be used across multiple related products; front-end development; UX and UI design; design for print; graphics and icons for web and native apps; apparel design; and creating email marketing campaigns.
Working with another designer, this job required a Joomla build with a bespoke template, working from Photoshop files for this popular shopping centre in Newark-on-Trent. Also required was a filterable store directory.

Working with another designer, this job required a Wordpress build with a bespoke template, working from Photoshop files. With its muted colour palette and an emphasis on minamalism and typography, ensuring the copy displayed properly across all screen sizes was a must.
